It is very common habit that most of the people dislike some foods or flavors. No problem Every one has his own choice. Food is the most important thing in life and everyone has some favorite food. However, rejection of and wastage of food is not a good activity. This column is about this habit where a young girl is very choosy and very strict on it. Even when she is invited somewhere she rejects foods, dishes, flavors which creates embarrassing for the host. Prophet Muhammad (MPBUH) sunnah is explained at the end how he even praised very poor food presented by the host.

Poor food and poorer eating habits are the leading reasons of poor health of Pakistani people. Dr Shahzad Basra, professor, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan, is struggling hard to introduce new superfoods in the country. Amaranth is a group of more than 60 different species of grains that have been cultivated for about 8,000 years. These grains were once considered a staple food in the Inca, Maya and Aztec civilizations. Amaranth is classified as a pseudocereal, meaning that it’s not technically a cereal grain like wheat or oats, but it shares a comparable set of nutrients and is used in similar ways. Superfoods are foods that have a very high nutritional density. This means that they provide a substantial amount of nutrients and very few calories. They contain a high volume of minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants. Antioxidants are natural molecules that occur in certain foods. They help neutralize free radicals in our bodies. Free radicals are natural byproducts of energy production that can wreak havoc on the body. I am working as professor at University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan and lead Alternate Crops Lab. Corona Nutritional Management Although mere intake of good food cannot cure coronavirus many foods have potential to boost immunity and helps in preventing against viral infections Eating soluble fibre boosts the production of a protein (interleukin-4), which in turn stimulates the infection-fighting cells (T-cells) in the body. Dhaba is a restaurant on the highway, which serve local food dishes. Such shacks of roadside are basically mud structures with charts (charpaais), mainly for truck drivers to sit upon and have food.These hotels are also known as Truck Hotels. These offer very tasty local food and tea at very cheap rates. Some of such hotels are getting popularity due to tasty food and New Haji Hotel is an example. It is situated near Manawala, Sheikhura on GT Road. This hotel offers desi murghi, batair, beef, mutton and daal. The specialty of this hotel is fresh wheat chapati.

- Foxtail Millet a Future Crop of Pakistan
Oxtail millet (Setaria italica) is a common food in parts of India. Its health beneﬁts in diabetic rats, produced a “signiﬁcant fall (70%) in blood glucose” while having no such eﬀect in normal rats. Diabetic rats fed millet also showed signiﬁcantly lower levels of triglycerides, and total/LDL/VLDL cholesterol, while exhibiting an increase in HDL cholesterol. It is recently introduced in Pakistan.
